Choosing a perfect prom dress is the most important thing for the Prom. You should start shopping around at least one month before the party. Many people want to buy dresses that are beautiful and gorgeous. But if you consider yourself "short", you won't want to wear cocktail dress that looks like long floor length dress on you. Here, I would like to talk about few tips about how to choose length of the dress, depend on your height. This explanation is from my own observation, so you can just use it as your reference.
A long dress already has a good reputation at formal parties. It is elegant and feminine, and a more formal looking dress that does not appear cheap or casual. The long dress is a safe choice for the prom. However because of its long length, it makes a shorter body look non-charming and sluggish. If you are not tall enough, the dress will outshine you. I recommend the long dress for medium to tall candidates.
There are many different kinds of long dresses such as the empire high waist long dresses, the sheath, or the long ball gown. The following long dresses are very commonly found at prom: V-neck long dresses would be a perfect choice if your skin color is white, and your body is slim. This dress makes you seem more sharp and charming. One shoulder dresses are for if you want to look exciting at the party. It is asymmetrical and looks wild but unique. If your dress has two colors, the effect will be increased. Strapless long dresses represent your openness. It is very gorgeous and fashionable. The neck line is fully shown. The beauty of your collarbone will be shown to everyone as jewel of your body. Print long dresses are a new type of dress. As the printing industry technology advances, it allows all the colors and patterns directly printed on the fabric of a long dress. Color is one of the most important factors of choice. The print dress has so many color designs you will love and make you look more extravagant. This type of dress makes you look more mature.
Next, you may choose a short dress if you feel tired of wearing long dresses. Many girls accept the long dress as part of the dress code in the prom. However, the time has changed. Short dresses are well accepted in these days due to the fact that many well recognized dress designers start introducing many short prom dresses to the market in year 2000s.
